Dr. Shetay is an Ordained Minister, Chair & Associate Professor, Award-winning STEM Equity Scholar, TEDx Speaker, and Kingdompreneur. She serves as an associate professor in the Department of Organization, Workforce, and Leadership Studies at Texas State University (TXST). Before joining TXST, Dr. Shetay worked for 13 years in the information technology (IT) sector with Fortune 500 corporations like General Electric, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and Dell Computers.
Since 2017, Dr. Shetay has submitted a total of $7,352,628 in research funding proposals yielding nearly $2.8M. As a nationally recognized, award-winning, STEM equity scholar, she has served as Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator of nearly $2.8M in federal research grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the US Department of Agriculture. She is an award-winning professor and scholar recognized as one of Alpha Chi’s Favorite Professors for 2018. Recently, she was recognized as an NSF CAREER awardee, which is “NSF’s most prestigious award in support of early-career faculty who demonstrate potential to serve as academic role models in research and education and lead advances in the mission of their department or organization.”
Dr. Shetay has a BS in Computer Science and PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Career and Workforce Education from the University of South Florida. In addition, she holds graduate certificates in Project Management and Program Evaluation, and she has a MSIS degree from the Occupational Education program at TXST.
As a Kingdomentrepreneur, Dr. Shetay is the co-owner of K Empowerment Group LLC along with her husband Min. Edward Lewis Hanserd MDiv, which is the holding company for Kingdom Business Development Center, Technology 4 LIFE Institute, and Heavenly Soundz Music.
