• Dr. Shetay Ashford-Hanserd

    FOUNDER, PRESIDENT & CEO

    Dr. Shetay serves as Chair and Associate Professor in the Department of Organization, Workforce, and Leadership Studies at Texas State University (TXST). Before joining TXST, Dr. Shetay worked for 13 years in the information technology sector. She has served as PI or Co-PI of nearly $7.8M in federal research grants from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and US Department of Agriculture. She is an award-winning professor and scholar recognized as one of Alpha Chi’s Favorite Professors for 2018, and an NSF CAREER awardee, which is “NSF’s most prestigious award in support of early-career faculty who demonstrate potential to serve as academic role models in research and education and lead advances in the mission of their department or organization.”

  • Edward Lewis Hanserd, Mdiv

    VICE PRESIDENT

    Edward Lewis Hanserd, Mdiv is a pastor, minister of the Gospel, music teacher, composer, and classically trained pianist. In 2019, he founded Heavenly Soundz Music. Heavenly Soundz Music is a ministry that encourages artists, writers, dancers, poets, musicians, and worshippers to create in the moment something new that will bring glory, honor, praise to Jesus Christ the Son of God. Edward is also Lead Pastor of Consuming Fire House of Prayer located in San Marcos, Texas.

  • Dr. Joni S. Charles

    SECRETARY

    Dr. Joni Seaton James Charles is an Associate Professor of Economics in the McCoy College of Business Administration at Texas State University, San Marcos, Texas. Dr. Charles graduated from Howard University and Purdue University. Her teaching interests include Microeconomics, Environmental Economics and Managerial Economics. Her research interests are in the areas of groundwater governance and groundwater management, grassroots organizations, collaborative partnerships, and participatory decision-making on water-related issues.

  • Dr. Aimee Roundtree

    ASSISTANT SECRETARY

    Dr. Aimee Kendall Roundtree is the Associate Dean of Research and Promotion in the College of Liberal Arts and a Professor in the technical communication program at Texas State University. Her research investigates communication in STEM fields, including science, technology, engineering, mathematics, and medicine. In particular, her work interrogates points of translation and transaction between experts, policymakers, organizations, and the public, as well as human and non-human agents. She has expertise in qualitative and mixed methods research, including usability and user experience research, heuristic evaluation, text mining, systematic and integrative reviews and metanalyses, survey studies, focus groups, and interviews.

  • Mrs. Algie Thompson

    Mrs. Algie Thompson has a bachelor's degree in clinical and applied sociology as well as family and consumer services. She has several years of experience in teaching and coordination roles. She spent 9 years as a teacher and 15 years in curriculum coordination. She is currently serving as our workforce coordinator and has been a big part of building networking connections with the workforce in our community. In summer 2019, she helped coordinate and document efforts to pilot the ACCEYSS Model at five sites in the Greater San Marcos area.

  • Mrs. Jacqueline Miles, MSIS

    Hello, my name is Jacqueline Miles, and I am a devout Christian who wears many hats and I’m passionate about them all. I’m a wife, mother and grandmother. I have been with Texas State University for over 28 years with 20 of those years in Research Administration. Also, I’m an Adjunct Faculty instructor, Entrepreneur of an automotive repair shop with my husband, and Treasurer for ACCEYSS Network. I received my Bachelor of Science in Family & Consumer Sciences with a minor in Child Development and a Master of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies both at Texas State University. I also serve on the ACCEYSS Network Board of Directors. I am compassionate about living my best life because life is too short not to and it is my distinct honor to assist others to do the same.

  • Reba Bacon

    BOARD MEMBER

    Reba Denise Bacon is an Industry Workforce Engagement Specialist for the North Central Texas Council of Governments. She’s a graduated of Texas A&M University Commerce campus with a Bachelor of Science in Sociology and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix-Austin campus. Her primary role is to work closely together with industries cultivating partnerships and utilizing workforce programs to leverage resources that will build current and future talent for each industry sector for the 14- county region. Reba has worked with workforce initiatives for over ten years, making positive impacts through community-based organizations that provided job training and job placement to individuals of a targeted population. She has managed grants ranging from $50,000 up to $2.5 million per fiscal year; over the last seven years she has developed over $14 million in projects to community colleges and non-profit organizations. Also, she has several years of working with local government in contract compliance. In addition, she enjoys coordinating and hosting events that have led to local and national recognition. While at Texas Workforce Commission, Reba spear-headed the first re-entry GRACE (Growth through Re-entry to Advance Careers & Employment) conference. Her affiliations include Texas Economic Development Council and National Forum for Black Public Administrators. She is a mother of three: Christian, Arrington and Jalesa and a proud grandmother.
