What is Power 2 Prosper CDC (The P2P Movement)?
The Power 2 Prosper Community Development Corporations (CDC) is a Christ-centered, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization (EIN: 38-4057454, DUNS: 081273876) headquartered in San Marcos, Texas, which is located in Hays County in the heart of the Texas Innovation Corridor.
Our Mission
We empower and equip low-income women and girls, youth, families, and faith-based organizations with resources, funding, and educational solutions to close the wealth gap in underserved communities.
Our Vision
Through the love of Jesus Christ, we are committed to breaking the cycle of poverty and closing the racial wealth gap for low-income women, girls, and families living in distressed, underresourced, and underserved communities. We are moved with compassion to bring hope to the poor and oppressed in these communities through 1) education and workforce development, 2) economic and spiritual empowerment, and 3) historic preservation and community revitalization. It is our hope to see whole communities transformed so that these individuals may realize their full potential and fulfill their God-given purpose. Our vision is inspired by the following biblical references:
Jeremiah 29:7 (NIV) - Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”
Proverbs 31:8-9 (NIV) - “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”
Psalm 82:3-4 (NIV) - Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed. Rescue the weak and the needy; deliver them from the hand of the wicked.
Luke 4:17-19 (NIV) - [Jesus] stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written: ‘The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.’”

We provide culturally-relevant, evidence-based, high-demand career education, resources, and funding for faith-based and grassroots organizations to equip youth, women, and families with the critical skills to thrive in the 21st century workforce. Our primary solution is the ACCEYSS Network.

Equity
We focus on racial equity and closing the racial wealth gap in underserved communities. #ReclaimDunbar is our primary initiative focused on improving racial equity through historic preservation and community revitalization in the communities where we serve. Dr. Shetay’s TEDx Talk
In this talk, Dr. Shetay gives a call to action for community and scholar-activists to “#ReclaimDunbar” by regaining possession of dilapidated and abandoned places and illuminating the stories of current and former residents to promote community revitalization.
